Webit Summer Impact Forum 2022: Manik Suri Joins Discussion Panel of Energy Experts
The Webit Summer Impact Forum is a testament to the Webit mission: Generating societal and environmental change through fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and exponential technologies.
In June 2022, GlacierGrid CEO and Founder, Manik Suri, was part of a panel discussion on “Energy Transformation and Innovation Enabling Resilience” that happened on Day 3 of the Webit Forum. This particular discussion was moderated by Angela Antetomaso, a correspondent, TV Presenter, and Host at Forbes.
Joining Manik in the panel were the following experts and leaders:
- Robert Denda, CEO at Gridspertise
- Chris Romer, CEO at Project Canary
- Pablo Koziner, President at Nikola Energy Company
During the discussion, Manik shared that an entire ecosystem of companies and innovators are emerging to reduce emissions and allow individuals to become aware of their actions.
“We are focusing on decarbonizing built environment assets in the cooling sector, which are responsible for huge carbon emissions because of refrigerant links, energy consumption, and product waste,” he emphasized.
He gives an example: Take refrigeration. No one ever turns them off. While fridges are efficient, they also require a lot of energy. The truth is, that approximately 14 billion refrigeration machines are needed to provide adequate cooling globally—and the US alone spends 15% of our electricity consumption on refrigeration.
When asked about one of the most extensive opportunities of working with the government on energy optimization, Manik simply said, “It's the art of the possible.”
Indeed, this group of panelists proved that there are many possibilities when it comes to energy transformation. You can tune in to the entire discussion here to get the full details.
